Title: Network and Computer Systems Administrator

Location: Memphis, TN (onsite) and remote

Position: 1 onsite in Memphis and 1 remote

Duration: Multi-year program

Start date: ASAP

Security Clearance: Active DHS Public Trust preferred or an active DOD clearance.

Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, 4+ years Windows and Linux systems administration, 2+ years database administration (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL)

Certifications: MCSA/MCSE or equivalent modern certifications, RHCE, LPIC, or similar professional-level certifications, Security+ certification required

Position Summary

Provide comprehensive systems administration for Windows and Linux environments supporting IRS Criminal Investigation's digital forensics operations. Maintain 24/7 operational readiness for critical law enforcement systems.

Education & Certifications Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • Microsoft certifications: MCSA/MCSE or equivalent modern certifications
  • Linux certifications: RHCE, LPIC, or similar professional-level certifications
  • Security+ certification required for federal environments


Key Responsibilities

  • Administer Windows and Linux server environments
  • Maintain SQL databases supporting ECE applications
  • Implement and maintain backup and recovery procedures
  • Support VDI deployments (Omnissa, Citrix)
  • Configure and maintain multi-factor authentication systems
  • Provide 24/7 operational support and incident response


Required Experience

  • 4+ years Windows and Linux systems administration
  • 2+ years database administration (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL)
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix)
  • Background in federal IT environments with security compliance requirements
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-resolution skills
  • Experience supporting mission-critical applications with high availability requirements
  • Minimum of 2+ years with previous or current experience with the IRS is required
