Job Details
One of clients in East Coast is urgently looking for an Oracle Golden Gate Implementation Expert.
Scope:
The Oracle GoldenGate Subject Matter Expert (SME) will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of real-time data replication solutions using Oracle GoldenGate.
This role requires deep technical expertise across heterogeneous databases and platforms, strong troubleshooting capabilities, and the ability to work closely with application, database, infrastructure, and business stakeholders to ensure reliable, secure, and high‑performance data integration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end Oracle GoldenGate implementations, including requirements analysis, architecture design, installation, configuration, and go‑live support.
- Design real-time and near–real-time data replication, CDC, and data integration solutions for high availability, disaster recovery, and analytics use cases.
- Configure and manage GoldenGate components (Extract, Data Pump, Replicat, Trails, Manager) for Oracle and heterogeneous databases.
- Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and optimization of GoldenGate environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex replication issues, data discrepancies, lag, and latency problems.
- Define and enforce best practices for security, encryption, auditing, and compliance.
- Support upgrades, patches, migrations (classic to integrated, on‑prem to cloud), and version compatibility planning.
- Develop operational runbooks, monitoring dashboards, and alerting mechanisms.
- Collaborate with DBAs, application teams, infrastructure, and cloud teams to ensure seamless integration.
- Provide knowledge transfer, technical documentation, and mentoring to internal teams.
- Participate in DR drills, failover testing, and production support (as required).
Required Skills & Experience:
- 8+ years of overall IT experience with 5+ years of hands-on Oracle GoldenGate implementation and support.
- Strong expertise in Oracle GoldenGate (Classic, Integrated Extract/Replicat, Microservices Architecture).
- Proven experience with Oracle databases (11g/12c/19c/21c) and at least one heterogeneous source/target (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
- Solid understanding of database internals, redo/transaction logs, CDC concepts, and replication topologies.
- Experience with high availability, disaster recovery, and zero/minimal downtime architectures.
- Strong SQL and PL/SQL skills.
- Experience with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning in production environments.
