Title: Mechanical Test Technician
Location: Redmond, WA
Duration: 12+ month contract
Compensation: $32.00 - 36.00/hr.

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
Join a cutting-edge hardware R&D lab as a Mechanical Test Technician. In this role, you'll set up and run custom mechanical tests that validate the reliability of wearable prototypes. Working closely with engineers, you'll operate specialized equipment, keep the lab organized, and contribute to the development of next-generation consumer devices.

THE OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU

  • Set up, operate, and maintain mechanical/electro-mechanical test equipment.

  • Execute test protocols for components and assemblies.

  • Collect, record, and organize test data with precision.

  • Troubleshoot test setups and assist engineers with custom rigs.

  • Maintain lab organization, calibration records, and safety compliance.


KEY SUCCESS FACTORS

  • Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related, or equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years in a mechanical test, lab, or technician role.

  • Experience with Instron tensile testers, vibration tables, or environmental chambers.

  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and measurement instruments.

  • Ability to follow procedures and read mechanical drawings.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.


NICE TO HAVES

  • Prior Instron experience (big plus).

  • Basic data analysis skills (Excel, Python).

  • CAD familiarity for reviewing part/assembly drawings.

  • Electro-mechanical assembly experience.
