Job Title: Applications Architect (Cloud & Enterprise Platforms)

Location: Tallahassee, FL (Onsite )

Contract Duration: 6+ Months

Job Summary

Client is seeking an experienced Applications Architect to support the design, implementation, and lifecycle management of enterprise cloud and on-premises technologies.

This role will play a critical part in supporting the Enterprise Data and Analytics Platform (EDAP) by architecting, securing, automating, and maintaining multi-cloud environments across Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS) while ensuring compliance with state and federal security standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, install, configure, and document server and cloud platform requirements in a multi-cloud environment (Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services) supporting the Enterprise Data and Analytics Platform (EDAP).
  • Perform daily monitoring, health checks, and troubleshooting for cloud and on-premises infrastructure to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance.
  • Design, implement, and maintain Terraform-based automation and CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment, configuration management, and compliance validation.
  • Design, secure, and maintain network connectivity including virtual networks, VPNs, firewalls, and Azure ExpressRoute / AWS Direct Connect.
  • Integrate and support enterprise data platforms such as Informatica, Databricks, Snowflake, and Dataiku, ensuring secure configuration, interoperability, and access control across Azure and AWS.
  • Monitor and optimize cloud performance, storage, and costs by implementing tagging strategies, usage reporting, and chargeback/showback models for multi-cloud governance.
  • Implement and enforce security baselines including encryption, identity and access management, key management, and role-based access control in alignment with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with data, analytics, and application teams to migrate workloads, modernize infrastructure, and establish secure integrations between cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Maintain detailed technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational runbooks; conduct knowledge-transfer sessions for technical teams.
  • Provide regular written status reports, participate in project and governance meetings, and support change management processes.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and administering enterprise-scale cloud environments in Azure and AWS.
  • 5+ years of experience as an enterprise administrator in on-premises Windows Server Domain environments.
  • 5+ years of experience managing Azure Entra ID (Active Directory) and AWS IAM.
  • 5+ years of experience designing and supporting multi-cloud architectures.
  • 5+ years of experience implementing IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions.
  • 5+ years of experience with cloud networking (VNETs, VPNs, ExpressRoute, Direct Connect).
  • 5+ years of experience implementing DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting cloud data tools (Snowflake, Databricks, Informatica, Dataiku).
  • 5+ years of experience with cloud cost management, tagging, and governance models.
  • 5+ years of experience implementing identity, access, and policy management in hybrid environments.
  • 5+ years of experience with Terraform or equivalent IaC tools.
  • 2+ years of experience designing and maintaining DR, HA, and security compliance aligned with HIPAA, NIST
