Job Summary
The Director, Nuclear TS (Operations) serves as a key technology leader focused on operational excellence, delivering exceptional results for Nuclear business stakeholders. Nuclear Technology Services: Operations group are the foremost experts for applications and systems required for communications, reporting, monitoring, and performing work - safely, reliably, and cost-effectively.
The Director helps ensure technology processes are consistent, enabled, measured, and improved to drive quality throughout Technology Services organization. The Director is also responsible for hiring, training, and leading a team of employees and contractors, who understand and demonstrate the culture and values of Vistra's One Team.
Job Description
Key Accountabilities
Establish operational priority, ensuring aggressive resolution and solid communication for business operational disruptions.
Compliance and management of Nuclear Regulatory systems (ex: 10CFR73) and Nuclear onboarding (ex: 10CFR810) support systems.
Preparation and support of Nuclear Refueling Outage support applications and systems, ensuring process optimization and cost management.
Manage hybrid support support model including key business partners, vendors, matrixed teams with competing priorities, and internal staff management and development within a Nuclear IT environment.
Oversee vendor partner outcomes including key metrics (SLA/KPI), process improvement, short- and long-term financials, escalations, and reporting.
Oversee execution of operational activities and measure process quality and compliance (incident handling, process execution, etc.).
Provide operational input on Nuclear Technology Roadmap to maximize business value, incorporate new features, and ensure delivery of TS objectives.+
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
Experience gained through college degree programs or certifications in Information Systems, Business, or Computer Science.
15+ years of working in an IT application-focused environment or equivalent applicable Nuclear technical business experience.
8-10 years of managing technology-based team(s).
Ability to manage globally-distributed support teams to ensure business success in a regulated environment.
Excellent communication and organization skills, with credibility to instill confidence in executive stakeholders and large teams via multiple communication methods.
Ability to navigate and understand key elements of a technically complex Nuclear environment.
Ability to effectively leverage expertise from matrixed departments and vendor partners to deliver solutions.
Ability to manage operational challenges and requests and ensure continuous improvement.

Implement improvements that result in reduced operating or capital expense
