Job Summary
The Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for developing and executing formal test plans to ensure the delivery of high-quality software applications. This role involves system testing, test case creation, defect analysis, and process improvement. The analyst will work closely with technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure software meets organizational standards and functional expectations.
General Responsibilities
Develop and execute system test plans for scratch-off and online gaming processes (sales, validation, billing, inventory tracking, etc.).
Build, automate, and execute test cases/scripts.
Assist in selecting and integrating test management tools.
Perform unit and integration test witnessing for vendor enhancements and issue fixes.
Document defects, track resolutions, and maintain test metrics.
Research incidents and anomalies in gaming systems; report findings to management.
Prepare and submit Software Change Requests for enhancements and corrections.
Review system documentation: Requirements, Design Docs, User Manuals, and Gaming Planning Docs.
Support users in defining enhancement requirements; communicate needs to vendors and developers.
Develop testing schedules and train Analysts on testing practices.
Maintain defect reporting practices and escalation procedures.
Contribute to Software Quality Assurance (SQA) policies, procedures, and staff training.
Guide and support SQA Analysts as needed.
Educate users on software features and enhancements.
Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external partners.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 3 years of experience in systems development, software testing, or QA.
Experience working on moderately complex projects across multiple systems.
Ability to function as a subject matter expert for a specific program/system.
May coach and guide junior analysts.
Preferred Skills & Knowledge
Independent judgment and strong analytical skills.
Experience with Lottery Systems (preferred).
Knowledge of defect/bug tracking tools (JIRA, Azure DevOps, etc.).
Ability to communicate system capabilities/limitations with support from management.
Understanding of data processing principles and terminology.
Proficiency with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ability to create detailed test scripts, test documentation, and audit system reports (with guidance).
Capability to understand complex systems and communicate with both technical and non-technical teams.
Strong organizational and task-prioritization skills.
Ability to keep supervisors updated on relevant project information.
