Description

Overview The Senior Systems Engineer (Converged Infrastructure Engineer) is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining integrated IT solutions that combine storage, compute, and virtualization (hypervisor) technologies. This role supports enterprise data centers and cloud environments, ensuring high performance, reliability, and security across converged and hyperconverged platforms. Key Responsibilities Design, Deploy, and Manage Converged Solutions: Plan, design, implement, support converged infrastructure systems, including storage arrays, compute nodes, and hypervisor platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix). Data Center Operations: Oversee daily operations of converged and hyperconverged environments, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing performance. Virtualization Management: Administer and maintain virtualized environments, including VM provisioning, resource allocation, and lifecycle management. Storage Administration: Configure and manage SAN/NAS systems, storage appliances, and virtual storage solutions (VSAs). Network Integration: Collaborate with network engineers to ensure seamless connectivity and interoperability between compute, storage, and network layers. Security & Compliance: Implement security best practices, conduct regular patching and firmware upgrades, and ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. Documentation & Reporting: Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and utilization reports. Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Provide Tier 2/3 support for escalated issues, resolve outages, and respond to service requests. Project Participation: Contribute to engineering projects, technology roadmaps, and research on emerging converged and hyperconverged technologies. Automation & Orchestration: Develop scripts and leverage automation tools to streamline deployment, monitoring, and management tasks. Required Skills & Qualifications Technical Expertise: Proficiency in converged/hyperconverged platforms (e.g., VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, Nutanix, Cisco UCS, Pure, NetApp). Virtualization: Deep understanding of hypervisor technologies and virtual machine management. Storage Systems: Experience with SAN/NAS, storage appliances, and virtual storage solutions. Networking: Solid grasp of network protocols, DNS, Active Directory, and integration with converged systems. Cloud & IaaS: Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and Infrastructure-as-a-Service models. Scripting & Automation: Skills in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash) for automation and orchestration. Security: Knowledge of security protocols, patch management, and compliance frameworks. Documentation: Ability to create architectural diagrams and detailed technical documentation. Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills; ability to work collaboratively across teams. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
