Network Manager

Location: Reading, PA Hybrid Role (2-3 days onsite)

Duration: 3-6 months contract to hire

Position Summary:

Client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced hands-on Networking Manager to lead and manage our network infrastructure. This role requires a strong technical background in network design, implementation, and troubleshooting, with significant hands-on experience with Cisco FTD (Firepower Threat Defense), Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine), and Cisco Meraki solutions. The ideal candidate will be a technical leader who can also roll up their sleeves and actively participate in network operations, projects, and problem resolution.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent practical experience will be considered.1
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in network engineering and administration, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) and Firepower Management Center (FMC).
  • Deep expertise in Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) administration and policy implementation.
  • Proven experience managing and optimizing Cisco Meraki networks (MX, MS, MR).
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, VLANs, STP, VPNs, etc.).
  • Experience with network security best practices and technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, etc.).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and team collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cisco CCNP Security or CCIE Security certification.
  • Cisco Meraki certifications.
  • Experience with scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Ansible) for network device configuration and management.
  • Familiarity with cloud networking concepts (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Experience with other network vendor technologies (e.g., Palo Alto, Juniper).
