Senior Wireless Network Engineer
The Network Support team is seeking a highly experienced Senior Wireless Network Engineer to design, operate, and continuously improve the enterprise wireless network infrastructure. This role requires a strong blend of hands-on wireless operations, engineering, automation, and observability expertise.
You will be responsible for ensuring the availability, reliability, and performance of wireless services by reducing manual operational effort, improving operational processes, and proactively identifying and mitigating risks. The role emphasizes automation-driven operations, data-driven troubleshooting, structured incident reviews, and continuous improvement to deliver a scalable and resilient wireless environment.

Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Wireless Network Engineer, you will:
Own the operational health, availability, and performance of the enterprise wireless infrastructure.
Partner with architecture, tooling, and deployment teams to ensure new wireless solutions are production-ready, supportable, and aligned with operational standards.
Drive and implement automation initiatives to reduce operational toil and improve efficiency.
Monitor wireless network performance, identify trends and systemic issues, and lead reliability and scalability improvements.
Enable and upskill network support teams to support the global wireless footprint effectively.
Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues in a timely manner.
Identify opportunities for operational, architectural, and tooling improvements and work cross-functionally to deliver sustainable solutions.
Participate in incident reviews and contribute to long-term operational improvements.

Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience
Minimum 8+ years of experience in wireless network engineering, enterprise network operations, or related roles.
Strong understanding of wireless networking fundamentals and associated security components.
Wireless Technologies
Expert-level knowledge of IEEE 802.11ac and 802.11ax standards.
Deep understanding of WPA/WPA2/WPA3, RADIUS, EAP, and 802.1X authentication frameworks.
Strong hands-on experience with enterprise WLAN controllers, with preference for Mist Wireless platforms.
RF Engineering
Solid understanding of RF fundamentals including site surveys, spectrum analysis, interference mitigation, and capacity planning.
Experience creating and interpreting wireless heatmaps and optimizing wireless performance for high-density environments and events.
Proven ability to tune wireless networks for scalability, resilience, and high availability.
Networking Fundamentals
Strong expertise in TCP/UDP, IPv4/IPv6, BGP, VPNs, and Layer-2 switching.
Demonstrated experience operating large-scale enterprise networks in production environments.
Automation & Observability
Proficiency in one or more scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Bash.
Experience with monitoring and observability tools including Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager, Nautobot/NetBox, and Netdisco.
Working knowledge of Linux system fundamentals is a plus.
Soft Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a structured, methodical approach.
Excellent communication skills with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Preferred / Differentiating Skills
Experience implementing network automation using telemetry sources such as SNMP, Syslog, and synthetic monitoring.
Hands-on exposure to wireless user-experience and synthetic monitoring tools such as UXI, Wyebot, or Signal7.
Ability to debug, optimize, and maintain automation scripts and workflows.
Experience with Mist Wireless, Cisco Wireless, and Mellanox / Cumulus Linux environments.
Familiarity with WLAN security platforms such as Cisco Client.
CCIE Certification
