Description: BSA with Accountant



An Accounting BSA (Business Systems Analyst) plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between accounting teams and IT or system development teams. Their primary responsibility is to ensure that financial systems and processes are aligned with business needs and regulatory requirements. Here's a breakdown of their key responsibilities:

Core Responsibilities of an Accounting BSA

1. Requirements Gathering & Analysis

o Work with accounting and finance teams to understand business needs.

o Translate those needs into technical requirements for system enhancements or new implementations.

2. System Implementation & Support

o Assist in the design, testing, and deployment of accounting systems (e.g., ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, Workday).

o Ensure systems support accurate financial reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency.

3. Process Improvement

o Identify inefficiencies in current accounting workflows.

o Recommend and implement system-based solutions to streamline processes.

4. Data Integrity & Reporting

o Ensure financial data is accurately captured and reported.

o Support the creation of dashboards, reports, and analytics for decision-making.

5. Compliance & Controls

o Ensure systems adhere to internal controls and external regulations (e.g., SOX, GAAP).

o Collaborate with auditors and compliance teams during reviews.

6. Cross-functional Collaboration

o Act as a liaison between accounting, IT, and other business units.

o Facilitate communication to ensure system changes meet all stakeholder needs.

7. Training & Documentation

o Provide training to end-users on new systems or features.

o Maintain documentation for processes, configurations, and system changes.

Roles & Responsibilities

Strong understanding of accounting principles.

Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).

Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).

Analytical thinking and problem-solving.

Communication and project management skills.

Sound communication and able to handle Sr. project stakeholders
