GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Support CDL driver testing and development of a program with tractor trailer mounted systems. Develop solutions to present day supply chain constraints by assisting engineers in implementing and testing trailer systems that are integrated with Class 8 trucks.

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Support CDL driver testing and development of a program with tractor trailer mounted systems. Develop solutions to present day supply chain constraints by assisting engineers in implementing and testing trailer systems that are integrated with Class 8 trucks.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Driving trucks on predetermined routes to test systems.
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspection of tractor and trailer ensuring the truck and trailer is safe to travel before leaving.
- Ensure all paperwork and logs are completed as necessary.
- Assist engineers and electro-mechanical technicians as needed with the testing and maintenance of trucks and systems.
- Support deployment of mechanical and power systems upon arrival to destinations.
- Learn new technician skills and apply them through different programs of interest.
- Perform other related duties as needed or assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
- No supervisory responsibilities
Experience and Skills
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- No moving violations within past three years.
- No traffic convictions defined by FMCSA that would disqualify driver from CDL.
- Driver must have a positive attitude, work ethic and be dependable.
- Must pass pre-employment drug test and be registered with the FMCS Clearinghouse.
- Must not have any traffic convictions defined by FMCSA that would disqualify a CDL.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, not only traffic laws, but rules and regulations regarding CDL and Class A driving.
- Ability to work additional hours and occasional weekends to meet business needs.
- Driver at times would be required extended time at an assigned location in addition to willing to travel within continental US.
- Approximately 25% travel.
- Experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well with others in a dynamic environment.
- Self-motivated to continually expand knowledge and skills related to this position.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain DOD/IC Security Clearance.
- At least 3 years' experience driving Class 8 trucks required.
- Must have Class A CDL and valid DOT medical certificate. No restrictions other than medical.
WORK ENVIROMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position involves work in an office and laboratory environment and could require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including:

- Hearing protection (varies based on tasks)
- Shoe covers
Physical Demands
In performing the work for this position, the engineer must be able to:
- Work utilizing test equipment or computer hardware for extended periods of time.
- Climb ladders and stairs in performing the work.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
