Our group supports PGIM Investment Accounting Systems through all aspects of the software development life cycle. We work closely with our internal contacts to meet their needs with an increased focus on transformation, automation, and improved data/workflow. We look for innovative solutions and continue to add new technology to the mix. Team members work on a variety of projects and support many different systems, applications, programs, and processes.

This role is based in our office in Newark, NJ. Our organization follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely and from the office, as needed, based on demands of specific tasks or personal work preferences. This position is hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring weekly basis of at least 3 days per week.

What you will do

  • Acts as a liaison between the IT development group and business units for the development and implementation of new systems and enhancement of existing systems.
  • Responsible for providing support to the investment management business overall or to multiple investment management business units.
  • Gathers client requirements for a business process change and communicates those terms to systems personnel and/or Operations.
  • Supports significant projects within this infrastructure area and provides technical writing and business analysis services.
  • Handles production support and problem resolution as needed which may require overtime, particularly if encountered during peak support periods. This position stresses knowledge of the business as well as technology. Programming is not required but is a plus.

What you can expect

  • Identifying strategic and tactical solutions to complex business problems in a timely manner.
  • Gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and systems requirements to enhance operational performance.
  • Reviewing user and/or Operations requests, conducting data-gathering interviews and providing innovative solutions to improve/solve the issue.
  • Writing clear business specifications/requirements/rules, redesigning applications/processes, creating mockups, and analyzing user data.
  • Identifying potential roadblocks to projects and developing solutions/contingency plans if problems arise.
  • Working with clients and developers to work through the phases of systems development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Creating and executing test plans to validate that system functionality satisfies associated business requirements.
  • Documenting software bugs for systems and identifying solutions to support our business partners.
  • Designing and implementing tests for systems changes., Developing test cases matrices, creating actual test cases, executing the test, reviewing of actual vs. expected results, communicating and resolving issues and documenting results
  • Collaborates to prepare communications and make presentations on system enhancements and/or alternatives
  • Supporting large cross functional projects to support ongoing company initiatives.
  • Take ownership to resolve basic and assist in resolving more complex production issues. This includes analysis of the issue and working with the appropriate area (as required) to resolve.
  • Utilizing various technologies which may include (but are not limited to) Jira, Excel, SQL, Visio, Python, Sellenium\\Winium (or other test automation tools), Oracle, SQL Server, PowerBI/Tableau, Power Platform, Bit Bucket, Cognos, Xceptor.

What you will bring

  • Accredited bachelor's degree or commensurate experience. Preferred (or required if applicable) majors include Management Information Systems (MIS), Business Analytics and Information Technology (BAIT). Business, Accounting, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, preferred. A business and technology major/minor combination is ideal.
  • 3 - 5 years of related working experience with working knowledge of the supported business functions and workflow; Familiarity with systems and transactions supporting the business functions; working knowledge of systems design process and methodology; Familiarity with testing tools. Knowledge of the system support (including inputs, screens, processing logic, output, reports as well as interface with the other systems is helpful.
  • Experience with SQL and related tools (e.g., Microsoft Query, Rapid SQL, DBeaver, etc.) preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Life-Cycle preferred and Agile methodology a plus.
  • Experience with business analysis, requirements, software testing or proficiency tools (e.g., automated testing tools, compare tools, robotics, data visualization, Python) is a plus.
  • Requires applied technical understanding and knowledge, excellent problem solving, communication and teamwork skills, strong business insight, an inclusive leadership attitude and a continuous learning.
  • Proficiency with PC skills (MS Office suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, OneDrive, MS Project, and Outlook, dataflow, database and reporting, testing, project management, SQL, data processing/manipulation, compare tools, automated test tools, client server applications, data visualization, workflow, robotics).
  • Experience with Cognos or other reporting platforms is a plus.
  • Experience supporting APIs is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong project management, organization and communication skills.

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $75,000 to $90,000. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
