Job Description:

The Technical Product Owner works with the Product, Project, and Business teams to ensure requirements are understood, developed, tested, and delivered to specification. The Product Owner possesses sound foundational knowledge of the ServiceNow's technical capabilities as well as the ability to communicate technical functionality to business users and vice versa. They will work with the development team to ensure alignment with best practices and business strategy. The qualified Product Owner will oversee the development of features from start to finish to ensure they meet the business stakeholders' needs and preferences.

What You Will Do

  • Managing the vision for the project team's product
  • Maintaining a project road map for the product based on this vision
  • Acts as a liaison between the business and the product team
  • Understands stakeholder's business processes and anticipate their needs
  • Collaborating with prospective users and stakeholders to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into product requirements
  • Managing the product backlog and prioritizing them based on changing requirements
  • Ensure the Development team and business stakeholders have a shared understanding of the requested features and desired business values and outcomes
  • Captures business and user requirements and creates corresponding User Stories
  • Ensures requirements are understood, developed, tested, and delivered to specification
  • Represents project stakeholders throughout planning, development, and release processes
  • Create and manage product releases
  • Monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on product progress at each stage of the process
  • Liaising with the product team and end-users to deliver updates
  • Participating in Scrum meetings and product sprints
  • Works with stakeholders to drive adoption
  • Provides consultative technical and/or business process leadership to the platform team
  • Possesses knowledge of the ServiceNow Platform and applications and how they're used internally and can interpret and validate technical specifications and designs
  • Facilitate discovery workshops to gain business concepts, requirements, and alignment
  • Perform business process gap analyses to meet business unit's desired outcomes.
  • Demonstrate iterations to customers (pre-release) and gather feedback and approval.
  • Educate users on the new features by creating and/or contributing to release notes and feature overviews.
  • Represents project stakeholders throughout planning, development, and release processes.
  • Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with a cross-functional project team.

  • The ability to develop and forge strong relationships and build consensus among competing stakeholders.
  • Experience spearheading cross-functional initiatives.
  • Proficient with user story definition, acceptance criteria writing in addition to facilitating effective refinement sessions.
  • Proven experience managing product backlogs.
  • Proficient in Agile ways of working.
  • Trained and Certified Agile Professional strongly desired.
  • ServiceNow Platform Certification strongly desired.

Experience:

  • 2+ years overall experience in a Product Owner role
  • 5+ years in a ServiceNow-related role
  • 2+ years' experience in ServiceNow modules: Employee Center (or 1 year of Employee Center Experience and 2+ years of Service Portal experience), Integrations Hub, ServiceNow Platform Administration
