Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer / Documentation Specialist to support a government IT project. This role requires a professional with strong writing skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to create high-quality documentation for technical and business audiences.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Technical Writing, Business Administration, or related field or 3+ years of equivalent experience
3+ years of professional business or technical writing experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
Strong understanding of technical concepts and ability to explain them clearly
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects independently
Experience documenting user stories, IT requirements, meeting notes, and status reports
Preferred Skills:
Technical Writing Certification
Experience with state or federal government IT projects
Familiarity with SDLC methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall)
Experience using CMS, version control systems, and project management tools (JIRA, Trello, MS Project)
Knowledge of business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau), SQL, Python, and ERP systems
Graphic design and multimedia content creation (video tutorials, diagrams)
UX writing and user-centered documentation experience
Understanding of cybersecurity and IT compliance standards
