Job Details

Job Title: Packaging Supervisor

Salary Range: $68,000 $80,000
Shift Preference: Swing shift preferred, but day shift is also an option

Job Summary:

The Packaging Supervisor oversees employees in a manufacturing and assembly setting. Responsibilities include planning work, enforcing safety and food standards, and improving production processes.

Key Duties:

  • Implement and manage production schedules
  • Assign and supervise line personnel
  • Communicate with staff about performance, scheduling, and quality
  • Monitor quality control and operational procedures
  • Ensure accurate documentation and coding
  • Coordinate shift transitions
  • Train, motivate, and discipline staff
  • Handle employee reviews and cross-training
  • Oversee equipment setup, sanitation, and maintenance
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues
  • Maintain inventory of packaging components
  • Collaborate with Customer Service and Quality teams
  • Track production metrics and ensure output goals are met

Responsibilities:

  • Comply with company policies, safety manuals, and regulatory standards (OSHA, FDA, HACCP, etc.)
  • Follow SOPs, GMPs, and safety rules
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Direct supervision of production staff

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required; bachelor s preferred
  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience with quality systems (SQF, HACCP, Kosher, Organic)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and MRP software
  • Bilingual and forklift certification are pluses

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent walking, kneeling, squatting, lifting (up to 50 lbs)
  • Use of hands for machinery operation
  • Ability to multitask and respond to diverse populations
  • Operate pallet jacks and forklifts

Work Environment:

  • Warehouse setting with varying temperatures and noise levels
  • Use of protective gear (gloves, masks, hairnets, etc.)
  • Exposure to particles, odors, and allergens
