Job Description:
Oracle Technical Specialist to support a major modernization effort for an enterprise-level Oracle-based system, referred to as The Solution. This system processes critical operational functions, runs 24x7x365, and includes multiple interconnected subsystems that are now outdated and require a full re-platforming.
The project involves upgrading the Identity management layer (OID), Middleware (Oracle Application Server/WebLogic), and UI/runtime components (Oracle Forms), as well as updating the operating environment
The Oracle Technical Consultant will be responsible for the maintenance, enhancement, and performance tuning of critical business applications built on Oracle Forms and Reports, coupled with managing complex data integration pipelines developed using Oracle Data Integrator (ODI). This role requires a strong blend of application development expertise, database proficiency, and data warehousing knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain applications using Oracle Forms (10g/12c) and Oracle Reports (10g/12c), including implementing new features and troubleshooting production issues.
Write, optimize, and debug complex PL/SQL and SQL stored procedures, functions, packages, and triggers used within the Forms application logic.
Perform comprehensive SQL and PL/SQL performance tuning to ensure application responsiveness and database efficiency.
Provide technical support for Oracle Database environments (12c/19c) related to application schemas and performance.
Data Integration (ODI):
Design, develop, and manage ETL/ELT processes using Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) for data synchronization, migration, and data warehouse loading.
Configure ODI topology, create mappings, procedures, and packages based on business requirements.
Utilize and customize ODI Knowledge Modules (IKMs, LKMs) to optimize data movement and transformation.
Monitor and troubleshoot failed ODI jobs and ensure the integrity and accuracy of data loads.
Collaboration & Standards:
Collaborate with business analysts and end-users to translate functional requirements into technical specifications for both Forms/Reports enhancements and ODI interfaces.
Adhere to strict coding standards, version control policies (e.g., Git/SVN), and documentation requirements.
Provide off-hours support (on rotation) for critical production issues as necessary.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
[4+ / 7+] years of hands-on experience developing, supporting, and optimizing Oracle applications.
Mandatory Expertise in Oracle Forms and Reports (preferably versions 10g and 12c).
Mandatory Expertise in Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) development and administration.
Expert proficiency in Advanced SQL and PL/SQL development and performance tuning.
Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and ETL/ELT processes.
Familiarity with Unix/Linux scripting for job scheduling and environment management.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
Experience with application migration/upgrades (e.g., Forms/Reports 10g to 12c).
Knowledge of modern reporting tools to potentially replace Oracle Reports.
Experience with WebLogic Server administration.
