POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for a Senior Microservices Engineer with expertise in building efficient and scalable distributed systems on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). The ideal candidate should have strong experience in microservices architecture, Kafka, Pub/Sub, NoSQL Databases, Big Query, Dataflow and Cloud Functions. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance solutions that enable real-time and batch processing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, Develop and maintain high-performance microservices using Springboot and Python
  • Architect Cloud-native applications leveraging Google Cloud Platform services such as Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, Cloud SQL, Spanner, GKE, etc
  • Partner with application owners, business partners and peer groups regarding long and short-range technical solutions that meet business requirements
  • Develop REST APIs using Spring Core, Spring MVC Framework, Spring Boot Framework, Hibernate, Spring Security and other tech stacks (Open source and proprietary)
  • Collaborate with Offshore teams to manage deliverables, conduct code reviews, and maintain best practices
  • Partner with security teams to implement compliance, authentication and secure coding standards
  • Ensure code quality through automated testing (unit, integration), logging, monitoring and alerting
  • Troubleshoot performance issues and optimize microservices interactions and database access
  • Participate in architecture discussions and lead technical design sessions

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least 5 years of backend development experience, with at least 3+ years in Spring Boot and 2+ years in Python
  • 3+ years of microservices architecture, REST APIs and asynchronous processing experience
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, especially services like GKE, Pub/Sub, CloudSQL, Spanner
  • 2+ years of experience in SQL/NoSQL databases, API security and Performance tuning

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with GraphQL, event-driven architecture or machine learning pipelines is a plus
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools like Stackdriver, Prometheus and Splunk
  • Ability to work in an Agile/Scrum environment with cross-functional global teams
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows and Infra as a code (Terraform Preferred)
  • Excellent communication and Stakeholder management skills

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree or, equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$92,700.00 - $185,400.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
