Location: Plano, TX (100% Onsite - Local Candidates Only)
Contract: 12-month W2 contract with strong potential for extension
Pay Rate: $85-$90/hour (W2)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Solutions (Application) Architect to support a global, enterprise-scale technology organization within the automotive and mobility space. This role focuses on solution design, architecture strategy, and technical leadership, rather than hands-on coding.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in microservices, cloud architecture (AWS), and distributed systems, and excels at partnering with engineering teams and business stakeholders to design scalable, secure, and high-quality technical solutions.

This is a high-visibility, onsite role in Plano, TX, working closely with cross-functional teams on complex enterprise initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and propose end-to-end application and solution architectures aligned with business and technical requirements
  • Contribute to enterprise architecture strategy, standards, frameworks, and governance
  • Partner with engineering, security, and infrastructure teams to define cloud-native and microservices-based solutions
  • Analyze complex business and technical problems and recommend scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions
  • Create and review architecture diagrams (UML, C4) and technical documentation
  • Provide guidance on AWS security, privacy, and compliance best practices
  • Review technical approaches and designs to ensure functional and non-functional requirements are met
  • Mentor and guide engineering teams on architecture patterns, performance, scalability, and reliability
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, business-friendly language
  • Collaborate closely with cybersecurity and web security teams to ensure solution compliance
  • Act as an individual contributor who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 10+ years of total IT experience, including 3+ years in an Architecture role
  • Strong experience with Microservices Architecture and distributed systems
  • Mastery of one or more languages: Java, Golang, or Python (architecture-level expertise; no daily coding required)
  • AWS cloud experience (mandatory)
  • Hands-on experience with AWS security and privacy concepts
  • Working knowledge of DevOps / SecDevOps practices
  • Experience designing solutions in Kubernetes-based environments
  • Strong understanding of system integrations and cloud-native application design
  • Ability to work 100% onsite in Plano, TX

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Knowledge of authentication and authorization standards (OAuth, OpenID, SAML, JWT, X.509, mTLS)
  • Familiarity with TOGAF or other enterprise architecture frameworks
  • Experience with service mesh and technology radar practices
  • Exposure to mobile technologies, OCPP protocol, or Machine Learning concepts
  • Experience building application roadmaps and long-term architectural strategies

Interview Process

  • Round 1: Technical Video Interview (MS Teams)

    • Fundamental Architecture & In-Depth Technical Discussion (1 hour)

  • Round 2: Onsite / MS Teams

    • Problem Solving & Solution Design using Whiteboarding (1 hour)
