Job Details
Title: Senior SAP ABAP Developer
Location: Newark, NJ/ Edison NJ
Mode: Fulltime Position
ComTec is seeking a skilled and experienced SAP ABAP Developer. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in ABAP development, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a collaborative environment with cross-functional teams. The role involves analyzing SAP interfaces, background jobs and Processes.
Required Skills:
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development.
- In-depth knowledge of SAP ABAP programming, including reports, BAPIs, BADIs, enhancements, and user exits.
- Strong experience with PI/PO adapters (File, JDBC, SOAP, REST, IDoc, SFTP, RFC).
- Exposure to or working knowledge of integration tools SAP XI, SAP CPI, MuleSoft, SAP Cloud Connector
- Strong experience in Object-Oriented ABAP (OOPs) and performance tuning techniques for ABAP programs.
- Experience in SAP PI/PO (7.5 or higher), including configuration, development, and monitoring.
- Understanding of enterprise integration patterns and best practices.
- Ability to analyze functional requirements and transform them into technical solutions.
- Strong debugging and performance analysis skills in both ABAP and PI/PO.
- Good to have experience in SAP IS-U (Industry Solutions for Utilities).
- Exposure to SAP data integration scenarios for analytics/data lake environments.
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, SAP best practices, and quality assurance guidelines.
- Certification in SAP ABAP is Preferred.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance SAP applications using ABAP (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, Workflows).
- Perform performance tuning for ABAP programs to ensure optimal execution times
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration and performance issues across SAP and non-SAP systems.
- Analyze, design, and enhance SAP interfaces and jobs related to Fleet Management and Asset Strategies.
- Support data extraction and integration between SAP and the Data Lake platforms.
- Collaborate with functional teams and business stakeholders to gather technical requirements and propose optimal solutions.
- Maintain technical documentation and ensure compliance with SAP development and integration best practices.
- Participate in code reviews and perform unit testing to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Work on end-to-end implementation and support projects involving complex interface scenarios.
- Provide support during system upgrades, patches, and performance tuning activities.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to ensure secure and scalable interface designs.
