Infection Control RN

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Infection Control Registered Nurse (RN) to join a respected healthcare facility in Peridot, AZ. This role focuses on preventing and controlling the spread of infections, ensuring patient and staff safety, and complying with all regulatory standards.

This is a 13-week contract with the potential to extend or transition into a permanent role for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor infection control policies and procedures
• Conduct surveillance of hospital-acquired infections (HAIs)
• Educate staff on infection prevention techniques, including hand hygiene and PPE use
• Perform audits and inspections to ensure compliance with CDC, OSHA, and facility protocols
• Collaborate with department heads and public health agencies during investigations and outbreaks
• Collect and analyze infection data to identify trends and recommend interventions
• Ensure regulatory compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines

Qualifications:

• Active and unrestricted RN license (AZ or compact state)
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with 1+ year in infection control or public health preferred
• BLS certification (required)
• CIC certification (Certified in Infection Control) preferred
• Strong knowledge of CDC, OSHA, and Joint Commission standards
• Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills
