IT Applications Analyst ? Trading with Strong Excel/SQL

In this role, the analyst will be pivotal in providing direct IT development and support for our clients wholesale power and congestion trading operations. This role will involve daily collaboration with the IT lead and will actively support databases, calculations, and associated data integration.

Essential Job Functions

• Interact and support Front Office (Traders) with data management, quantitative analysis and application development
• Knowledge of the PJM, New York, and/or Northeast power markets.
• Work with an Enterprise Data Warehouse with a comprehensive understanding of relational and non-relational databases
• Develop complex logic in database schema based on diverse business processes spanning multiple subsystems and large datasets
• Create and enhance standard and custom reports and workflows as per operational demands.
• Comply with all corporate policies and procedures.
• Create and maintain technical documentation

• Strong Excel skills, including the use of tables, pivots, statistical functions and an expert command of VBA
• Experience working with time series or pricing models
• Experience working with relational databases (SQL Server) and architecture
• Experience working with large datasets
• Experience working with ETRM systems a plus
• Congestion trading and/or financial transmission rights are a plus
• R language, a plus
• Python, a plus
• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field or 5+ years related experience
