Description

We are looking for an experienced Microsoft 365 Security Engineer to join our team in Irvine, California. In this role, you will play a critical part in safeguarding our systems, applications, and networks by implementing advanced security measures and monitoring tools. This position requires an experienced and detail-oriented individual with a deep understanding of modern cybersecurity technologies and methodologies.

This is a hybrid role, 2 days a week working from home.

Responsibilities:

Implement and manage Microsoft Security solutions, including Defender, Sentinel, and Entra ID Protection.

Configure and maintain SIEM tools such as Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, or QRadar to ensure comprehensive security monitoring.

Develop and execute strategies for application, network, and security monitoring to detect and respond to threats effectively.

Manage security for Windows Server, Active Directory, and Azure environments, ensuring compliance with best practices.

Configure firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint detection tools to protect against unauthorized access.

Conduct threat hunting, security incident investigations, and forensic analyses to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.

Utilize cloud-native security tools and DevSecOps principles to enhance container security and overall cloud infrastructure.

Apply log aggregation, anomaly detection, and behavioral analytics to monitor and analyze system activities.

Ensure adherence to regulatory standards, including NIST and ISO 27001, within all security operations.

Requirements

At least 7 years of experience in systems engineering with a focus on cybersecurity.
Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Security solutions and SIEM tools.
Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure security, and firewall configurations.
Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst or equivalent are highly desirable.
Familiarity with endpoint detection systems, intrusion detection/prevention tools, and network security protocols.
Understanding of container security, DevSecOps principles, and cloud-native security tools.
Proven experience in threat hunting, incident investigation, and forensic analysis.
Knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks like NIST and ISO 27001.
