Job Description:-

need someone with HPE Ezmeral experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in managing and supporting large-scale distributed data platforms.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with HPE Data Fabric (MapR) administration, including upgrades, user management, snapshot management, and security.
  • 2+ years of experience working with HPE Unified Analytics (UA), Kubernetes environments, and associated container orchestration.
  • Demonstrated experience with:
    • MapR Ecosystem Packages (EP) and Emergency Break Fixes (EBFs)
    • Volume and quota management, node configuration, disk troubleshooting
    • Security and auditing within MapR file system, DB, and streams
    • Capacity planning and performance tuning
  • Proficiency with Linux system administration, including best practices for HPE platforms.
  • Experience monitoring and tuning cluster performance, resource usage, and alarm management.
  • Experience with NFS configuration, snapshot lifecycle policies, and data archiving strategies.
  • Familiarity with YARN queue configuration and MapR-DB / HBase performance tuning.
  • Ability to follow structured change management and document technical procedures and changes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HPE certifications in Data Fabric or Unified Analytics.
  • Experience with MapR Security configuration and auditing tools.
  • Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation and cluster optimization tasks.
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices or enterprise-level support models.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication skills to interface with customers and participate in stand-ups.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues across nodes, services, and data layers.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong documentation habits and configuration consistency checking.
  • Team player with the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

The service definitions and details are described below:

  • Meet with the customer (stand-ups) as required
  • Follow and report status on all warranty HPE Support tickets as required
  • OS patching and upgrades not included

Perform the following tasks but not limited for HPE Data Fabric (DF):

Perform DF platform upgrades as required*

Deploying DF Ecosystem Packages (EP) as required*

Apply Emergency Break Fixes (EBFs) as required*

Perform the following tasks but not limited:

Implement best-practice

Ongoing user and quota management

Modify users/groups to correct queues on the cluster

Implement user/group best practices on the cluster

Monitor and modify default quota values

Monitor volume quota threshold limits

Alert/Notify users/groups of quotas threshold (ex: 70%, 80%, 90%) limits

Determine whether volume quota to be increased with business/project owners:

Volume & Storage Management

Volume & Storage Auditing

Configure node and volume topologies

Monitor MCS Alarms

Work with local admin on disk related issues

Add/Remove/Configure Volumes

Data Protection

Configure Topology to meet documented data protection objectives

Implement Snapshots for user volumes

Check and validate scheduled snapshot per documented policies

Check that volume size is not growing beyond any expectation due to snapshot retention policies

Set proper expiration dates on Snapshots per business policy.

Cleanup expired snapshots to free volume space.

Provide NFS interface to move copies of data to an archival destination

Meet with admins and identify the tasks that are repeatedly performed on the cluster.

Check and ensure parameters are consistent across nodes in the cluster

Determine cause for configuration file changes, and document reasons and change request details

Query and Data Model Review

MapR-DB / HBase hot-spotting review (incl. Table and Region management)

Perform the following tasks but not limited for HPE Unified Analytics (UA):

  • Implement best-practice
  • Perform UA platform upgrades as required*
  • Perform Kubernetes upgrades as required*
  • Create necessary users and groups
  • Add storage/data connections
  • Monitor, notify, and remediate UA Alarms
