The Global Head of Application Management s primary objective is to transform and strengthen the application support and application maintenance function to provide high availability for critical business functions across globe for the General Insurance business. Under your leadership, you will provide a global vison and strategic and tactical business plan to take the current implementation capability to the level of a highly effective professional services organization driving consistent levels of customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges. This individual will also have strong leadership experience in building high performing teams, and a deep understanding of resourcing a global processional services delivery and working with stakeholders to develop a plan for ensuring success and high quality.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the technology operations, roadmap, and application portfolio for Global Commercial, Consumer, Digital, Data and Global Claims businesses
- Drive the strategic and organizational vision, strategy, and value proposition for our General Insurance Application Management Team. Partner with global business and technology leaders in effective delivery of business objectives.
- Responsible for global technology leadership and management, operations, performance metrics and financial performance.
- Ensure consistent quality and work standards by designing and implementing audit processes for flawless service delivery managed through KPI's.
- Fiscally responsible for Application Management actual-to-budget expenditures, adjusting expenditure patterns/trends as needed to comply with budgeted amounts. Prepare, revise, finalize and submit annual budget forecasts for the Applications Management and related technologies.
- Manage an effective relationship with strategic development partners and third party vendors to ensure successful delivery and efficient cost management. Coordinates vendor management, contract negotiations, licensing, maintenance contracts and service level agreements.
- Leverage the strategic relationships you will build across the organization to gather and shape business requirements and provide recommendations on solution delivery. Promote line of business knowledge and understanding, working with the business and your team to clarify and refine these.
- Lead the Global App Management Technology and partner with regional heads aligned to Casualty, Financial Lines, Lexington, US Programs, Canada, Bermuda, Multinational, Cat Modeling, Divestiture and Global Claims and respective team >1000 employees and contractors.
- Understand and make the most relevant and appropriate technology recommendations based on optimizing costs of ownership for the IT estate. Establish global processes focused on Problem Management, Data & Analytics driven continuous improvement.
- Ensure technological processes and services comply with all local requirements, laws, and regulations, and exploit and lead best practices in the industry.
- Ensure that the IT solutions align to enterprise policies and architectural standards.
- Drive a culture defined by excellence and responsiveness across teams. In collaboration with HR, establish a talent management strategy that recruits, develop and retain diverse, high performers.
- Provides guidance, leadership and mentoring to a team of Application Management professionals. Supports and develops the technical expertise needed to meet long-term business needs.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years manager in the global production support space in large, highly matrixed organizations
- Proven experience meeting the application needs of global lines of business, in an efficient, strategic, and prudent manner
- Demonstrated experience influencing senior leadership in their best decision making around technology outcomes
- Experience managing against established KPIs; reporting on and reviewing outcomes, and establishing and maintaining a roadmap for continuous improvement
- Proven success managing a team of high performing technology professionals seated around the world
