Infrastructure Engineer
Duration: 6+ Months
Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid 1 Day per week)
Rate: Level 3: DOE/Hr. | Level 4: DOE/Hr.

We're particularly interested in candidates who are local in TX from your direct consultants who have strong experience in Unix, Networking and Firewall including NetBackup, Cohesity, Commvault , Please note that we do not work with layered structures.

Role Description: As a member of the Infrastructure Support team, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive infrastructure support, enabling us to deliver exceptional service to our customers, clients, and businesses worldwide. Your expertise in Wintel production assurance, connectivity services, and service improvements will be vital in ensuring reliable infrastructure. You will be part of a dedicated team, serving as the primary point of contact for incident, problem, change management, risk, vendor and client relationships, internal and external communications, service delivery, lifecycle management, and service evolution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the point of contact for infra build incident, problem, change management, risk, vendor and client relationships, internal and external communications, service delivery, lifecycle management, and service evolution.
    Support administrative functions necessary for infrastructure delivery,including planning, tracking, reporting, and
    consumption.
    Execute daily duties and define and drive Infrastructure Platform requirements to enhance business processes.
    Develop and support operational activities through automation.
    Lead root cause analysis meetings to drive process improvements.
    Collaborate with peer teams to ensure high availability and optimal performance for customers.


Required Skills and Qualifications:
Advanced knowledge of Cohesity, Veritas NetBackup, Commvault, Index Engine, including command line environments. Intermediate knowledge of AWS or Azure is a plus.
Moderate experience in scripting (shell, Perl, Python, etc.) to automate backup service requirements.
Proficient in TCP/IP networking and firewall technology.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
Advanced knowledge of Cohesity, Veritas NetBackup, Commvault, Index Engine, including command line environments. Intermediate knowledge of AWS or Azure is a plus.
Moderate experience in scripting (shell, Perl, Python, etc.) to automate backup service requirements.
Proficient in TCP/IP networking and firewall technology.
Proficiency in JIRA and Agile methodologies, with a proven track record of managing projects using these tools and frameworks.
3+ years of experience in problem resolution within large-scale production environments.
Experience with backup provisioning in Cohesity and Commvault.
Experience with Catalog Migration for NetBackup
Experience in building Infrastructure for Cohesity clusters, Commvault and Veritas NetBackup domains with storage and tape library infrastructure.
Familiarity with storage products - EMC Data Domain, Block (SAN) and File (NAS).
Intermediate knowledge of large-scale enterprise backup solutions.
Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Visio, and other productivity tools.

    Ensure information controls,backup, and recovery strategies are implemented across all environments.
    Strong technology background to understand change requests and recommend alternative solutions.
    Familiarity with agile development methodologies and practices.
    Experience with ITIL processes,including Incident Management and Change Management, is required.
