Description:
- Schedule: 4 days remote, 1 day onsite - Open to traveling frequently, must understand the process for managing their own travel arrangements. Candidate should be independent & autonomous; travel is project-based and is to be determined accordingly. Candidate must be able to determine when to travel & requesting the travel accordingly.
- The role is for an "Equipment Engineer" responsible for detailed engineering and implementation of various telecom equipment at different sites
- Key responsibilities include: Determining proper placement of equipment, ensuring power, cooling, and space requirements are met
- Understanding equipment specifications and calculating power, breaker size, and placement requirements
- Working with databases like CND and a homegrown DCIM tool to manage equipment deployment
- Requires a strong understanding of power, space, and cooling requirements for telecom equipment, as well as the ability to work independently and learn quickly
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Strong understanding of power, space, and cooling requirements for telecom equipment
- Ability to work independently and learn quickly
- Understand how to deploy equipment with power space & cooling limitations
- Understand secondary power - where equipment goes on rack, power requirements, etc.
- Prior experience in a similar role is beneficial, but not strictly required
- Ability to read equipment specifications, calculate power and breaker requirements, and understand placement limitations
- Experience working with databases, specifically CND and a homegrown DCIM tool
- The hiring manager is open to considering candidates with less experience, as long as they can demonstrate the ability to learn quickly
- No specific mentions of required certifications, screenings, or proficiencies beyond the general technical skills

Work Environment
- Partner with Engineering and Operations to provision and test the UT/iEN/5G networks throughout the country
- Provide field Technicians with Remote Configuration and Test support for all US Domestic growth and revenue projects, such as Card adds and Circuit adds
- Support "in-service" network system reconfigurations, supporting on site field techs with high level switching and real time review of all system activity being performed during Maintenance Events
- Submit Engineering Support recommendations as to maintain real-time documentation of network systems infrastructure, cross connects and circuit audit corrections
- Work in the following engineering systems on a daily basis: UUI/CoFEE, ICON, CCP, VPNS, ACTP, and Venue
- MSC (Mobile Switching Center) engineering - cell site, RAN equipment & implementing equipment
