Mechanical Lab Technician with a Global Consumer Device Company in Cupertino, CA
Seeking a hands-on technical professional to support our mechanical engineering team in a fast-paced lab environment. The ideal candidate brings strong technical aptitude, a problem-solving mindset, and a collaborative approach to day-to-day challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive and assist engineers with prototype fabrication and measurement tasks.
- Bring technical aptitude with hands-on fabrication experience.
- Must have solid understanding of lab safety practices.
- Proficiency with machining and measurement tools.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Maintain lab organization and enforce safety protocols.
- Proactive, collaborative, and detail-oriented work style.
Required Skills and Engineering Support
- Execute rapid prototyping and fabrication tasks using appropriate tools and equipment such as: (3D printers, CNC mills and Laser Cutters)
- Operate and maintain lab equipment, including drill presses, and precision measurement tools: (Calipers, Micrometers, Dial Indicators, and Gauge Blocks).
- Must have hands-on experience with the fabrication of Metals, Plastics, and Aluminum Materials.
- Experience with Bandsaws, Water Jets, Laser Scanner and Trackers a plus.
- Audit and manage inventory of lab equipment, assets and prototypes
- Manage equipment calibration, testing, maintenance, and inventory.
- Support shipping and receiving project components.
- Document procedures and maintain accurate technical records.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating CNC equipment.
- Familiarity with CMM or OMM machines.
- Ability to execute simple designs in 3D and 2D CAD: create solid models, review designs, and create and modify 2D drawings according to GD&T standards.
- Data analysis skills.
- Prior experience in technical lab environments.

Location: Cupertino, CA onsite (Monday through Friday 8:30am to 5:30pm)
Duration: 12+ months (with possible extensions)
Pay Rate Range: $55-68/h (DOE)
