Who we're looking for:
We are seeking a Systems Engineer - Mid for a potential opportunity, with a strong background in cybersecurity operations and infrastructure support. This role will contribute to the development, maintenance and enhancement of mission-critical tools that enable threat detection, incident response and event monitoring across secure environments. The Systems Engineer - Mid will play a key role in integrating data sources, optimizing workflows and supporting technical solutions that strengthen the organization s cybersecurity posture. This is a unique opportunity to shape the growth, development and culture of an exciting and fast-growing company in the cybersecurity market. Employment for this position is dependent on the successful award of the contract.
What you'll be doing:
- Supervise, coordinate and perform changes to network hardware and infrastructure server environments.
- Investigate, analyze, recommend, configure, install and test new network hardware and software.
- Support daily operations of network hardware and operating systems, including monitoring utilization and system response times.
- Troubleshoot at the physical level using network hardware tools and diagnostics.
- Troubleshoot at the logical level using communication protocols.
- Participate in planning, design, technical review and implementation of new network infrastructure hardware and operating systems.
- Perform systems management and integration functions across platforms.
- Apply and maintain virtualization technologies and perform network administration.
- Maintain network infrastructure standards, including support for TCP/IP protocols.
- Provide technical consultation, training and support to designated IT staff.
- Diagnose and resolve complex communication and system issues.
- Design, deploy, evaluate, test, certify, patch and manage interoperability issues for storage and backup systems and their components.
- Ensure systems are updated with approved patches, support certification and accreditation tasks.
- Develop and maintain SOPs and quick reference guides for users.
- Lead and contribute to client/server environment design and development.
- Develop strategy and infrastructure to support enterprise client/server systems.
- Advise on procurement and design decisions for processing, storage and application environments.
- Set and maintain standards for organizational relational database structure.
- Advise management on feasibility of future IT projects and technology investments.
What you need to know:
- Experience in supervising, coordinating and performing infrastructure changes.
- Strong technical knowledge in network hardware, software and operating systems.
- Troubleshooting experience at both physical and logical network levels.
- Expertise in planning, reviewing and implementing network infrastructure.
- Proficient in virtualization technologies, network administration and systems integration.
- Understanding of network communication protocols, including TCP/IP.
- Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in client/server system design and standard setting.
- Familiarity with composing SOPs and user reference materials.
- Knowledge of technological trends and best practices.
Must have's:
- Bachelor s degree.
- 5+ years of experience.
- Proven ability to analyze complex requirements and translate them into clear, actionable tasks and processes through critical thinking.
- Active Top Secret (TS) clearance.
Beneficial to have:
- Experience working in federal IT environments or under government regulations.
- Familiarity with SOP and technical documentation development
- One or more of the following certifications:
- CompTIA Network+.
- CompTIA Security+.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
- Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA).
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner.
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Associate.
