GENERAL SUMMARY: The Assistant Director of IT Systems leads the Salesforce Data Solutions team, ensuring the effective design and implementation of Salesforce data applications aligned with DLBA's operational needs. This role bridges departmental program and business requirements with systems/technical requirements to optimize the use Salesforce platform throughout the Detroit Land Bank Authority.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Organization Wide Duties
- Manage IT staff responsible for Salesforce and Financial Force systems, optimizing team skills and workloads.
- Oversee procurement and renewal of Salesforce licenses and related third-party software.
- Implement structural improvements to the Salesforce database for operational efficiency.
- Research and recommend business process improvements to leadership.
Data Governance
- Implement structural changes to the Salesforce database system for greater operational efficiency.
- Lead the process flow analysis and process redesign plan in conjunction with various departmental subject matter experts to continuously enhance internal operations
- Develop and implement inventory management processes that effectively interface with other Sales Force activity throughout all departments within the organization.
- Develop strategies and implement best practices to increase efficiencies in data sharing and collaboration between partner City of Detroit agencies.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned by the Administrative Services Director
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Master's degree in computer science, urban planning (data focus), or related field preferred. Equivalent work experience may substitute.
- Minimum 3 years of Salesforce systems integration/implementation experience, with advanced skills in Salesforce configuration and custom development.
- Knowledge of web-based, service-based, and enterprise application architectures.
- Experience with enterprise integration and ETL tools.
- Proven management and solutions consulting experience.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a pragmatic approach.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
