Enterprise Architect Health IT Support

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to provide strategic and technical support for ongoing digital transformation efforts within a public sector health program. The selected architect will collaborate with key stakeholders to support IT modernization, enhance alignment between systems and business objectives, and ensure compliance with applicable federal and state regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain enterprise architecture models across business, data, application, and technology domains.
Provide strategic input for modernization planning and roadmap creation.
Assist in procurement activities, including architecture requirement definition and vendor proposal evaluation.
Assess current IT systems for scalability, performance, and interoperability; recommend enhancements.
Ensure alignment with Medicaid Enterprise Systems (MES) and MITA frameworks.
Work with business and technical teams to gather and refine requirements.
Deliver architecture documentation, including as-is/to-be diagrams, gap analyses, and strategic plans.
Support governance activities and enforce architectural best practices and standards.
Contribute to cloud adoption and infrastructure optimization efforts.
Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master s preferred).
10+ years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in enterprise architecture roles.
Expertise in health and human services IT systems, ideally with Medicaid or ACA program experience.
Proficiency with architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, or FEAF.
Knowledge of CMS guidelines, MITA principles, and MES modularity.
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and service-oriented architecture.
Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Preferred:
Experience working with public sector agencies at the state or federal level.
Familiarity with Medicaid system architectures or comparable environments.
