Job Details

Job Title: Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) Analyst / IT Strategist
Location: Lansing, MI (Hybrid Onsite 2 days/week)
Interview: Round 1: Virtual via MS Teams (Vendor must validate candidate presence; photo screenshot required).
Round 2: In-person at Lansing, MI office.
Job Description:

  • Conduct Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) activities for assigned ITIF and other strategic projects.

  • Evaluate project documentation (charters, PM plans, schedules, contracts, risk registers).

  • Assess quality and completeness of project deliverables.

  • Identify and escalate project risks, issues, and deficiencies.

  • Track project performance against defined metrics (scope, schedule, budget, quality).

  • Produce and deliver:

    • IV&V Service Plans

    • Monthly Health Assessment Reports

    • Deliverable Review Assessments

    • Risk/Issue Logs with mitigations

    • Executive Briefings

    • Final IV&V Summary Reports

  • Collaborate with PMs, stakeholders, and executives while maintaining independent judgment.

  • Ensure compliance with DTMB quality standards and documentation formats.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of IT Project Management experience, ideally with large/complex technology initiatives.

  • 5+ years of IV&V or equivalent QA experience.

  • Proven history supporting politically sensitive or high-profile public sector projects.

  • Solid knowledge of PMI PMBOK, risk management, and QA best practices.

  • Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.

  • Skilled in producing executive-level reports and actionable insights.

Education & Certifications:

  • Required: Bachelor's in IT, Business Administration, Project Management, or related.

  • Preferred: PMP Certification

  • Plus: CSM, CQA, or similar credentials
