Our client who is currently supporting the Navy and Marines medical supply inventory is seeking a Data Scientist. You will be responsible for leading specialized teams to develop and implement data-driven solutions for our clients, ensuring the highest standards of quality and technical excellence. You will engage with and manage senior clients, offering valuable insights into how analytical methodologies can drive business value, and work to continually improve our processes and strategies.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop document intelligence solutions for information extraction, semantic search, and natural language understanding; design and implement generative AI and large language model solutions, including prompt and context engineering, model evaluation and fine-tuning, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) approaches
  • Develop machine learning and AI solutions for computer vision, supervised and unsupervised learning, natural language processing, and statistical analysis methods, such as classification, regression, clustering, collaborative filtering, sentiment analysis, language modeling, time-series analysis, statistical inference, etc.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary and cross-functional teams to identify business opportunities and develop artificial intelligence, large language model (LLM), and document intelligence solutions; drive technical execution and delivery of data science and AI engagements for state and federal government clients and work with government clients to manage risks, set expectations, and ensure successful delivery of projects
  • Work with clients and team leads to identify and integrate data sources; collaborate with data engineers to develop and utilize ETL processes to transform and enrich structured and unstructured data; leverage a variety of data sources such as images, video, voice, documents, financial data and operational data for insights
  • Design and develop Agentic AI frameworks where autonomous agents can execute complex business processes through orchestration of LLMs, APIs, custom workflows, and third-party tools.
  • Develop, test, and deploy production-ready data science and AI solutions within the client enterprise cloud environment, supporting the end-to-end product development lifecycle and adhere to industry-leading practices for continuous delivery and integration and MLOps
  • Contribute to development of dashboards, UI and interactive tools that turn client data into actionable insights and reproducible reports

Role Qualifications:

  • At least an active Secret clearance
  • Proficiency with programming languages such as Python and SQL, and their associated open-source packages/libraries, with a focus on AI/ML tools and frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn) and NLP libraries (e.g., Hugging Face, spaCy)
  • 1+ years of experience in developing machine learning models (supervised and unsupervised learning, time series and forecasting, natural language processing, computer vision, anomaly detection etc.) and familiarity with relevant model training, testing, and validation processes (regularization, feature selection, cross-validation, etc.)
  • Ability to apply artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to achieve concrete business goals; ability to work with the business to understand available resources and constraints around data (sources, integrity, and definitions); provide assistance and resolve problems, using solid problem-solving skills with strong verbal/written communication skills
  • Familiarity with big data open-source tools (e.g. Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, etc.), and open source web frameworks and UI platforms (e.g. Flask, Shiny, Django, Dash) is a plus
  • Preferred: Experience working in Advana, Databricks, Palantir Foundry, and UiPath
  • Preferred: Master's or PhD degree from an accredited college/university in mathematics, statistics, Computer Science, engineering or any other related field;
