Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a Metro New Technology Integration & Readiness Senior Program Manager , you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. Responsibilities:

New Technology Integration
  • Establish good working relationships with all the Technology , Design and Construction stakeholders .
  • Be the liaison between Operations , Design, Construction and Technology partner and escalate any issues that could cause impact and drive solutions that deliver best-in-industry results for our customers.
  • Drive design solutions and alignment into basis of design and design initiation that align with new technology requirements.
  • Attend Metro new build, expansion and retrofit project related design, construction, and commissioning meetings.
  • Participate in Construction/ Operations walk throughs, and ensure that design intent is met through the construction process.
  • Document , report and partner across teams to drive implementation of lessons learned from each project.
  • Centralize and distribute information between Operations and the Technology partner teams.
  • Contribute as a SME to support the development of automation and tooling required to support new process/ programs related to new technology .
Data Center Readiness Delivery
  • Able to balance leadership, influence skills, supportive individual contributions, project management, and expertise in enterprise-level operations.
  • Monitors services and KPIs, OKRs, SLAs, and OLAs and reports trends and service anomalies.
  • Keep track of all the latest and upcoming key milestones and deliverables.
  • Lead upfront planning for deployments with focus on implementation of program-level changes into local project delivery.
  • Partner with Site Transition Program Managers to ensure effective site readiness/ deployment readiness standards are met .
  • Centralize and distribute work forecast and partner with Metro site vertical teams to ensure workforce planning aligns to forecasted resource need .
  • Work with learning and development teams to ensure that infrastructure / tech maintenance training aligns with new technology standards .
  • Leads key processes, such as team and triage meetings, prioritizes work across the team, and rebalances priorities to respond to changes.
  • Contribute as a SME to support the development of standardized processes, workflows, aut omation and tooling required to support new technology delivery.

Ownership
  • In alignment with management priorities, holds self accountable for the end-to-end service quality, completeness, and resulting customer experience (including but not limited to availability, safety, security, customer service). Supports escalation of issues to appropriate owner.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Qualification or equivalent AND 6+ years experience working on large scale projects in an engineering , IT infrastructure delivery, Data Center and/or construction management role OR equivalent experience
  • 3+ years experience on new technology integration and ability to translate technical requirements into design and operational standards
Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Technical College Degree in Computer Science, Math, Telecommunications, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related field AND 12+ years experience in critical environment infrastructures (e.g., UPS, Generator, AHU), or working in physical IT infrastructures (e.g., Servers, SANs, Networking, Capacity, DC Rack/Enclosures, structured cabling) OR High School Qualification or equivalent AND 14+ years experience in critical environment infrastructures (e.g., UPS, Generator, AHU), or working in physical IT infrastructures (e.g., Servers, SANs, Networking, Capacity, DC Rack/Enclosures, structured cabling) OR equivalent experience.
  • Applicable certifications: ASICS (Inventory Control), CompTIA (Computing Technology Industry Association), Microsoft Network Certifications, PMP (Project Management Professional), ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library), CDCP (Certified Data Center Professional).
  • Experience working in complex and agile environments, with a proven ability to adapt to rapidly changing requirements and priorities
Data Center Operations Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $127,600 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $168,900 - $253,300 per year.
