The Role at a Glance

This position provides leadership, direction and functional expertise to ensure departmental results for his/her assigned area(s) of Application Development
responsibility. S/he directs IT Data Management services for his/her assigned area of responsibility encompassing the end-to-end delivery function, which
includes strategy development, implementation planning, delivery, and operational run responsibilities for data-centric projects, centered around new
platforms, as well as other data environments.

What you'll be doing

  • In this role, you will be responsible to drive and implement the Data Platforms Strategy, build, and deliver on capability roadmaps for key strategic Data Engineering technology solutions, and enable and support Lincoln's Enterprise Strategic Data Strategy
  • You will mentor and lead teams designing and building data solutions that capture, explore, transform, and utilize data to support Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and business intelligence/insights.
  • You will work with other leaders to set prioritization across the Data Value Stream teams, ensuring alignment to Lincoln's business & IT strategic priorities
  • Manage the various stakeholders for the technical capabilities and solutions within the Value Stream, to ensure roadmaps and the associated delivery of commitments meet their needs
  • Implement and develop analytic data products, data movement and data persistence capability from pilot/proof of concept to production, on-going support, and maintenance
  • Recommend data strategies to support various consumption patterns, including enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure
  • Oversee the operationalizing and automating of all capabilities to ensure secure, supported, and scalable solutions
  • Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with senior management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future strategies.
  • Identifies and directs strategic process improvements that significantly reduce workloads or improve quality across the team, department and/or business unit for assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Drives operational efficiency and proactive performance improvement of the nightly batch feed processes.
  • Reduces data redundancy and data hops across internal databases, data feeds and applications.
  • Drives increased utilization of self-service reporting capabilities within the end user community
  • Leverages Agile development methodologies to increase the throughput and success of development efforts.
  • Drives increased data quality and the implementation of data management tools and processes.
  • Present recommendations to senior management and executives and influences decisions at the executive level
  • Guide and coach senior team members and managers to accelerate career development
  • Establish functional budgets, policies, and practices with impact on functional area
  • Establish functional strategic objectives


What we're looking for

  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) (Minimum Required)
  • 10+ Years experience architecting, building, and delivering leading edge scalable solutions including proven leadership experience in an Agile organization, championing iterative approaches to planning and development. (Required)
  • 3+ Years of managerial, supervisory, and/or demonstrated leadership experience including influencing senior management/critical stakeholders experience. (Required)

Pay Range: $140,701 - $256,200

Actual base pay could vary based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln's total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln's standard benefits package.
