Microsoft Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) is the team behind Microsoft's expanding Cloud Infrastructure and responsible for powering Microsoft's "Intelligent Cloud" mission. SCHIE delivers the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Teams, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform globally with our server and data center infrastructure, security and compliance, operations, globalization, and manageability solutions. Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in hardware engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year(s) experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 7+ years experience in hardware engineering, product/technical program management, or product development
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • Knowledge of high-volume server design and manufacturing is desired.
  • Knowledge about datacenters & operation at scale is desired.
  • 5+ years experience managing end-to-end (E2E) hardware product development, preferably in cloud infrastructure hardware or server development.
  • Demonstrated experience in program management from new product introduction (NPI) to post-product launch with leadership, management, facilitation, and problem-solving skills including L1/L2 Triage Capability and, task prioritization and execution in a technological environment.
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office tools (Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Word, Excel etc.) and Power BI.


Technical Program Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 - $182,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Drive technical hardware programs from requirements through launch, including managing complex project schedules, removing roadblocks, and keeping processes running smoothly.
  • Align key stakeholders and manage projects through milestones to completion on schedule and in budget, with uncompromising quality.
  • Lead a virtual team of functional leads including members from hardware and software engineering, sourcing, supply chain, networking and datacenter operations for documenting a clear Plan-of-Record (POR) for the new product development and leading the project team to meet stated milestones
  • Have an in-depth understanding of the product technical requirements, milestones, deliverables and interdependencies for establishing an accurate and effective project infrastructure. Leverage experience and engineering skills to solve problems, fill gaps and achieve objectives through a cross functional team.
  • Communicate and present program plans and status with management.
  • Personally navigate and skillfully lead others through complex, interrelated technical challenges and business issues to deliver impactful results.
  • Timely reporting of meaningful status and supporting detail to senior leadership and other internal stakeholders.
