As a Production Engineer, you will play a key role in our operations team, overseeing the efficient production of high-quality credential products. In addition to contributing to the team's success, you will also undergo comprehensive training in card production and credential management. Your responsibilities will include collaborating across departments to optimize production processes, troubleshoot issues, and maintain a secure and efficient work environment. Your pivotal contribution will extend to driving continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring that you play a crucial part in the overall success of our credential operations.
 
Responsibilities and Duties
  • Actively participate in comprehensive training focused on card production and credential management.
  • Learn and acquire the necessary skills in card production techniques and credential management practices.
  • Engage in the learning process to become proficient in the designated areas.
  • Apply acquired knowledge to contribute effectively to the production team.
  • Support the overall success of credential operations through skill development and active involvement in training initiatives.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance to ensure optimal functionality and prevent any potential issues or downtime.
  • Respond promptly to production issues, diagnose problems, and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime and maintain a smooth production flow.
  • Assist in production planning and scheduling, taking into account the complexities of credential systems production, with a focus on meeting deadlines and optimizing overall efficiency.
  • Maintain detailed records of production activities, including production reports, inventory levels, equipment maintenance logs, and specifics related to credential systems production.
  • Apply programming and debugging skills to manipulate credential card formats, including decoding customer sample cards, and creating new card formats tailored to customer specifications.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance production processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and meet production targets.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in ISO communication protocols (T=0 and T=1, ISO 7816-3) to facilitate seamless communication between credentials (cards/tags/key fobs) and readers.
  • Provide support to the sales team by addressing inquiries and questions related to credential systems, ensuring a collaborative approach to customer needs.
  • Provide support to the card production team by programming and maintaining machines, contributing to streamlined processes, and ensuring efficient production operations.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, production, card production, and sales, to overcome production-related challenges and introduce process improvements within the realm of credential systems.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
  • 1-5+ years of electrical engineering
  • 1-5+ years of firmware engineering
  • Strong proficiency in C programming, with the ability to apply coding skills to optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and data-driven decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Interest, willingness, and commitment to learn about card credential formatting and structures, encompassing both low frequency (125KHz) and high frequency (13.83MHz).
  • Intellectually sharp and highly motivated, with a relentless drive for success.

Compensation depends on experience but is typically $90-130K plus equity.
