Position Title: Project Manager 2

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and deliver complex, cross-functional projects from initiation through completion. This role is responsible for managing technical projects, coordinating resources, and driving alignment across stakeholders, with a strong emphasis on data visualization, process improvement, and effective communication. The position reports into a project management leadership team and will oversee a portfolio of projects that directly support strategic business initiatives.
The ideal candidate will be adept at balancing technical execution with stakeholder engagement, using project management tools and methodologies to ensure successful delivery on time, within scope, and on budget.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Leadership: Manage all phases of project development, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Define project scope, goals, and deliverables with input from stakeholders. Maintain transparency through clear, timely communication supported by data visualization tools.
  • Process Optimization: Identify and implement opportunities to improve workflows, reporting, and financial or data models.
  • Data Management & Visualization: Collaborate with teams to leverage visualization and reporting technologies, ensuring compliance with governance, quality, and security standards.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify risks, resolve issues, and adjust project plans to maintain alignment with goals.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, schedules, budgets, risk assessments, and progress reports.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Direct internal and external teams, ensuring effective collaboration across business functions and with vendors or consultants.
  • Resource Coordination: Oversee allocation of resources and personnel to meet project objectives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Conduct reviews, track dependencies, and align with best practices in project and change management.
  • Training & Transition: Develop and implement training, support, and transition plans to ensure smooth handoffs.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor s degree in Business, Management, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Management, or a related field (experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis).
  • 4 7 years of project management experience in a technical field.
  • 4 7 years leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • 4 7 years applying project management methodologies, including scheduling, budgeting, WBS development, and resource coordination.
  • 4 7 years of proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • 4 7 years presenting project updates to multiple levels of an organization.
  • 4 7 years working with project management software and data visualization tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
  • 3 years of experience leading projects related to design and construction, such as data management, infrastructure projects, or utility-related initiatives.
  • 3 years of experience managing remote or distributed teams.
  • 3 years of experience with industry-specific business practices (e.g., utilities, infrastructure, or municipal projects).
  • 1+ years of experience with data management principles, tools, and best practices.
  • 3 years of experience working with public sector or government entities.
