Mechanical Estimator

Position Overview
The Mechanical Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely estimates for mechanical construction projects. This role involves evaluating project specifications, analyzing labor and material costs, and developing comprehensive proposals for commercial, industrial, and multi-family projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze project plans and specifications to prepare detailed estimates.
  • Conduct take-offs for various mechanical systems including HVAC, sheet metal, piping, and plumbing.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather necessary information for accurate estimation.
  • Prepare and submit proposals for mechanical projects, ensuring compliance with client requirements.
  • Assist in the preconstruction phase by providing cost analysis and value engineering options.
  • Maintain and update estimating databases and cost libraries to ensure accuracy in future estimates.
  • Attend project meetings and provide input on project feasibility and cost-related issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator in the construction industry, with a strong understanding of commercial and industrial projects.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, sheet metal work, piping, hydronics, and plumbing.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools, with excellent analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills to work with clients and subcontractors.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
