We are seeking an experienced and outstanding MQ Administrator for one of our esteemed clients.

Role: MQ Administrator
Locations: Dallas, TX; Tampa, FL; and Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid Onsite)
Duration: Long Term
Key Skills & Experience:
  • IBM MQ Administration (Distributed Platforms):
    • Hands-on experience in installing, configuring, and administering IBM MQ across distributed environments (Windows, Linux, UNIX).
    • Proficient in queue manager setup, channel configuration, clustering, and high availability solutions.
    • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for resolving MQ-related issues and performance bottlenecks.
  • Monitoring & Performance (APM6 / OBM):
    • Configuration and integration of IBM MQ with Application Performance Management (APM6) and Operations Bridge Manager (OBM).
    • Development and tuning of custom monitors and alerts for proactive MQ issue detection.
  • Scripting & Automation:
    • Expertise in scripting languages (Shell, Python, Perl) to automate administrative tasks, deployment pipelines, and monitoring routines.
    • Automated backup, log management, and routine health checks for MQ environments.
  • Security & Compliance:
    • Configuration of SSL/TLS for secure MQ communication.
    • Implementation of user access control and role-based security models in MQ.
  • IBM Data Management:
    • Familiarity with IBM Data Management tools and practices as they integrate with messaging middleware.
    • Understanding of data flows between MQ and databases, ensuring integrity and reliability of enterprise data pipelines.
  • Networking & Systems Knowledge:
    • Solid understanding of networking protocols and firewall configurations relevant to MQ connectivity.
    • Ability to work closely with infrastructure and security teams to ensure end-to-end message delivery and system integrity.
