Perform FEA analysis (Static/Modal, Non-linear, Vibration, Reliability/Durability & Fatigue calculations) on components, sub-systems and complete vehicles to ensure durability/reliability requirements are met.Conduct technical research, post-process and analyze simulation results, prepare engineering reports and provide technical recommendations to improve existing and new designsLiaise with design engineers and testing teams to develop test plans and provide instrumentation roadmaps for durability and reliability testingPerform validation studies to correlate simulation models to test dataWork with global technical strategy teams to develop simulation strategies and CAE methodologiesWork with project managers and engineering stakeholders to estimate CAE budget for new projectsCoordinate and delegate CAE tasks and manage team deliveriesOversee and manage simulation tasks across engineering teams and, work packages & other tasks with external partners
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 6 years of industry experience or a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 4 years of experience in structural analysis of mechanical systemsStrong background in fundamentals of structural mechanics, durability and linear/non-linear analysis methodsAt least 5 years of simulation experience in a product development environment, preferably in class 8 heavy duty truck developmentExperience with CAD (PTC Creo preferred) and component design & development preferredAutomotive experience a plusExperience with working on Linux/HPC systems
Technical SkillsA minimum of 6 years' experience in use of commercial FEA analysis tools such as NASTRAN, Optistruct, nCode, Abaqus, Hyperworks etc. is a mustExperience in Motionview, truckSim or other equivalent tools for vehicle dynamics simulations is a plusHighly experienced in Linux OS and use of HPC systems for submitting and monitoring CAE jobsExperience in shell/linux scripting to automate repetitive tasks is a plusPractical hands-on experience with validation and experimental measurements including design of experiments.
