Description:


Occupational Health Nurse - Senior


Performs clinic functions within the RN scope of practice
Oversees clinic operations ensures adequate inventory levels of medicines, supplies and equipment are maintained, confirms standing orders for medications and immunizations are current
Conducts office duties including appointment scheduling, phone/email communications/support and clinic record keeping
Knowledge of worker s compensation and disability case management
Provide immediate care and assistance to employees reporting to medical for occupational accidents/injuries
Communicate accident/injury reports to Management, Safety, and HR as soon as possible
Collaborate with third party administrators managing work related injuries
Work with EHS to support risk reduction for employees experiencing potentially work-related musculoskeletal symptoms
Supports the Medical Director/Physician Assistant as needed
Provides initial assessment of employee injuries and ensures proper referrals are made
Refers employees with identifiable limitations and/or health risks to appropriate resources
Responds to plant -wide emergencies and performs other first responder duties
Activates 911 emergency protocols when needed
Conducts new hire drug testing, client pre-employment and random drug testing
Under MD direction, assists with travel consultations and administers immunizations for employees (traveling abroad and other)
With company physician/physician assistant, conduct basic ergonomic assessments and provides results/referrals to Safety
Assist Safety in managing Respiratory/Hearing Conservation Program
Provides appropriate health education and referrals to employees as needed
Demonstrates awareness of adherence to legal requirements pertinent to employee health and safety Maintains employee health records in accordance with HIPAA, OSHA and company protocols
Updates and ensures compliance with ICBus Plant Medical Department standing orders policies and procedures
Provides case management and pertinent medical records in support to other regional sites
Manage proper disposal of medical biohazard waste
Supports client program - assists in the recovery of requested employee documentation per client requirements
Proactive in collecting effective metrics to drive continuous improvement and map effective process
Proactive in learning, implementing and supporting new electronic medical record system

As a level in the Professional Track, work is accomplished through independent contributions or project work requiring advanced subject area knowledge and decision-making skills.

Requiring knowledge and experience in own discipline, applies company policies and practices/procedures to resolve various issues or problems of moderate scope. Exercises judgment within defined, standard practices/procedures to determine appropriate action. Builds productive internal/external working relationships.

Works under limited supervision, typically receiving general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments, and a moderate level of guidance and direction.

Bachelor s degree in nursing
At least 2 years of nursing experience
Must have an active in-state Registered Nurse license
Must have a current American Heart Association Health Professional CPR card

OR

Occupational Health Nurse Specialist (COHN) certificate
At least 4 years of nursing experience
