Job Title: Splunk Engineer
Contract Duration: 12 Months
Contract Type: Only W2
As a Splunk Developer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining Splunk dashboards, alerts, and reports that provide actionable insights across our systems and applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data is collected, parsed, and visualized effectively to support operational and security objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain Splunk dashboards, searches, and alerts to track system performance, application availability, and security events.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective Splunk reports and visualizations.
- Troubleshoot and fine-tune existing Splunk configurations to enhance efficiency and user experience.
- Onboard and integrate new data sources into Splunk through forwarders, APIs, and custom scripts.
- Provide Splunk insights to support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and issue resolution.
- Partner with DevOps, Security, and Infrastructure teams to ensure robust logging and monitoring coverage.
- Continuously research and apply Splunk best practices, new features, and emerging industry trends to strengthen observability.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 - 5 years of hands-on Splunk experience, including dashboard development, query optimization, and alert configuration.
- Strong command of SPL (Search Processing Language) with exposure to Splunk Enterprise Security (ES) or ITSI.
- Proven experience integrating diverse data sources (e.g., syslog, APIs, cloud platforms) into Splunk.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and data processing.
- Familiarity with complementary observability tools such as the ELK Stack, Grafana, or Prometheus.
- Understanding of compliance, security standards, and best practices in logging and monitoring.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills to present technical findings in a clear, business-focused manner.
