Description
A/V Drafting Support Specialist
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced A/V Drafting Support Specialist to provide technical drafting and design support for our growing portfolio of audio-visual and technology projects. This is a flexible, project-based position ideal for professionals who thrive in a dynamic environment supporting government and commercial clients.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Documentation & Drafting
Create detailed A/V diagrams, specifications, and layout drawings for installation projects
Develop pre-installation drawings showing equipment placement and cable routing
Generate as-built documentation post-installation for ongoing support and maintenance
Produce technical drawings that enable installers to understand project requirements and equipment placement
Project Support
Support large-scale projects for government clients including California state & local government agencies
Work on projects ranging from single rooms to 200+ room installations
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and installation teams
Ensure drawings meet client specifications and industry standards
Software & Tools
Utilize AutoCAD for technical drafting (required experience)
Learn and adapt to StarDraw software (company standard)
Work with various A/V design and documentation platforms as needed
Required Qualifications
Technical Skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD (essential requirement)
Experience with A/V system design and documentation
Understanding of low-voltage cabling and installation requirements
Ability to create technical drawings from specifications and site information
Knowledge of A/V equipment placement and cable routing principles
Professional Experience
3+ years of drafting experience, preferably in A/V or technology systems
Experience working on project-based assignments
Background in construction, electrical, or technology systems preferred
Government project experience is a plus

Detail-oriented with strong quality control standards
Excellent communication skills for client and team collaboration
Ability to represent company standards and maintain consistent quality
Work Arrangement & Location
Flexibility
Remote work capability with occasional site visits as required
Northern California location preferred for potential on-site requirements
Project-based scheduling with varying duration (weeks to months per project)
Travel Requirements
Occasional site visits may be required for project assessment
Ability to travel within California as needed
Project Types & Clients
Government facilities (California state & local government agencies)
Commercial installations
Multi-room conference and presentation systems
Large-scale technology infrastructure projects
Projects typically ranging from 10-200+ rooms

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $75.00/hr.
