Job Title: Google Cloud Engineer

Job Location: Remote (DC Metro Area preferred for occasional onsite
meetings in Rockville, MD)

Compensation: $130,000 to $140,000 salary, health benefits, PTO (26 days
per year), 401k plan, and additional benefits.

Eligibility/Clearance: . Public Trust will need to be
obtained. This contract supports a government agency.

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Google Cloud Engineer to support a major
federal government program, working directly with an AWS Architect to
design and implement a Trusted Internet Connection (TIC) solution for
the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). This role requires
strong Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) engineering expertise, firewall and
network security experience, and the ability to operate within a secure,
compliance-driven environment.

This position is ideal for a cloud engineer who thrives in
mission-critical federal environments, enjoys solving complex
integration challenges, and can collaborate closely with
cross-functional technical teams.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

- Design, configure, and maintain Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform)
infrastructure in support of a federal Trusted Internet Connection
initiative.

- Implement and manage firewalls, network security policies, routing,
VPNs, and secure connectivity solutions aligned with government
security requirements.

- Collaborate closely with an AWS Architect to integrate AWS and Google Cloud Platform
environments into a unified trusted internet architecture.

- Build and maintain cloud automation, monitoring, and CI/CD
capabilities leveraging Google Cloud Platform-native tools.

- Support system hardening, compliance, and documentation requirements
relevant to federal systems.

- Troubleshoot cloud networking, security, and infrastructure issues
across multi-cloud environments.

Requirements:

- U.S. Citizen (required by federal contract).

- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

- Google Cloud Professional Certification (Cloud Engineer, Architect,
or Security Engineer).

- 5+ years of hands-on cloud engineering experience, with at least 3
years focused on Google Cloud.

Strong experience with:

- Firewall technologies (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point, or
equivalent)

- Cloud networking, VPC design, IAM, and security best practices

- Multi-cloud or hybrid connectivity solutions

- Experience supporting federal security standards and compliance
frameworks.

Desired Qualifications:

- Prior experience supporting HHS (Health and Human Services) or other
civilian federal agencies (e.g., USDA, DOJ, DHS, DOC, DOT, DOE, VA,
GSA, etc.).

- Experience participating in or supporting federal system ATO
(Authority to Operate), TIC, or Zero Trust initiatives.

- Familiarity with AWS services, cloud security architecture, and
cross-cloud design patterns.
