Role Overview
NB is seeking a strategic and adaptable professional to support an ongoing Identity & Access Management (IAM) initiative within a hybrid Agile/Waterfall environment. This individual will eventually step into a Product Owner role, helping drive clarity, accountability, and progress across a team that is still learning and evolving with the project.
Current Environment
- Hybrid Agile/Waterfall delivery model.
- Projects often lack upfront definition requirements and stories are discovered iteratively.
- Teams work in stages (e.g., Stage 1, Stage 2), frequently uncovering gaps mid-process.
- Security demands are evolving faster than product delivery.
- New inputs (e.g., from FDIC) may require sudden scope adjustments.
- The team is learning as they go and needs someone who can bring structure without rigidity.
Project Focus
- The core product is Provision, part of the IAM ecosystem.
- The team is still gaining clarity on what Provision is and how it should function.
- Previous team members brought SailPoint experience, which helped but also created some misalignment by trying to mold Provision into SailPoint.
- Past consultant was instrumental in driving the project forward this role will continue that momentum.
- The goal is for this person to become the Product Owner, managing both the IAM project and broader cybersecurity initiatives.
Team Dynamics
- Team members are laid-back, collaborative, and kind but require consistent nudging to stay on track.
- The ideal candidate will be comfortable pushing others while maintaining positive relationships.
Experience Requirements
- Proven experience with IAM implementations.
- Solid cybersecurity background to understand technical terminology and context.
- Familiarity with Agile is helpful, but not essential adaptability within a hybrid model is key.
Must-Have Skills/Background:
- This team is implementing the IAM product called Provision (a software tool that works with Active Directory) which involves new employees coming in, different roles, & how they get the access they need. They've been working on this for the past few months.
- Someone who has done a successful IAM implementation as a project/product manager.
- Holding vendors accountable
- We aren't looking for someone who goes into Active Directory hands-on.
- Step in and understand (not just manage the project)
- Understands what's going on in the IAM space, someone who asks questions.
- Keeping people on track and asking the right questions
- They have a roadmap (it likely needs work) and they have a good idea of where they want to get to
- They have the applications, the roles, the access, the order of events, etc. need to likely be reviewed again.
- It's a cloud-based package, there's options for integration, there's APIs included, and this team does the mapping. It's basic data that's getting transferred from one system to another.
