The Business Data & Information Architect (BDIA) translates business objectives into clear, actionable requirements. This includes comprehensive elicitation, analysis, documentation, and management of functional and non-functional specifications. The BDIA designs and manages project data architecture for efficiency, security, and strategic alignment, bridging business needs with technical data solutions. This role supports user experience (UX) and information architecture, by organizing information supporting intuitive navigation, enhanced usability, and accessibility. The BDIA ensures solutions are meticulously defined, meet business goals, and align with user desirability and technical feasibility.



Responsibilities



Business Analyst (70%)Collaborate with Product Managers to translate user needs, workflows, and system requirements (functional/non-functional) into detailed specs. Engage business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and validate comprehensive business requirements, identifying underlying needs and optimization opportunities. Break down high-level epics into granular, actionable user stories/tasks with clear, testable acceptance criteria. Analyze current business processes, identify pain points, and create/maintain optimized workflows. Determine content flow, taxonomies, metadata frameworks, and content models for logical information structuring. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including detailed functional specifications, use cases, process flows and data models; contribute to prototypes. Ensure all requirements documentation is accessible, up-to-date, and aligned with the evolving product vision. Act as the central point for requirements clarification & documentation Facilitate workshops and discussions to gather, refine, and resolve ambiguities, ensuring shared understanding. Collaborate with QA team and assist with UAT Actively participate in agile ceremonies



Data & Information Architect MongoDB Focus (30%)Design, create, structure, and manage application data architecture, ensuring efficiency, security, and alignment with business objectives. Translate complex business requirements into technical data architecture specifications, including database and data stream design. Ensure data integrity, security, accessibility, and compliance (e.g. Privacy, GDPR). Identify data sources and formulate a comprehensive data management plan aligned with organizational strategies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors. Analyze performance data, user feedback, and operational metrics to inform decisions and measure feature impact.





Experience Required7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Data Architect, and/or Information Architect in a software development environment within an Agile Product Development Organization (PDO) framework. Experience PreferredProven ability to elicit, analyze, document, and manage detailed functional and non-functional requirements for complex software solutions. Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban). Proficiency with MongoDB Compass, NoSQL data modeling, Google Cloud Platform, and requirements/project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Visio, and Miro. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, translating complex technical concepts into understandable business terms. Superior analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with acute attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic, cross-functional team environment. Familiarity with User Experience (UX) principles and/or DevOps concepts is a significant plus.
