Job Details
Job Summary (List Format):
- Collaborate with business and Data & Analytics (D&A) teams to understand data needs and identify valuable use cases.
- Translate high-level business requirements into detailed functional specifications and manage changes to these specifications.
- Brainstorm use case costs, benefits, and potential data sources with business and D&A teams during ideation phase.
- Assist in developing prototypes and minimum viable products (MVPs) for D&A solutions.
- Support adoption of D&A services/products by coordinating documentation, training, and change management with business teams.
- Track progress and adoption of solutions post-implementation, document value added, and share success stories.
- Mentor D&A team members to enhance their business understanding.
- Educate and coach business colleagues on D&A practices to improve data literacy.
- Assist in improving data quality to build trust in departmental data.
- Assess business change needs, analyze impacts, gather and document requirements, and communicate with stakeholders.
- Identify requirements for new data collection methods and create related documentation (wireframes, process maps, data definitions, business rules).
- Lead requirements definition meetings and facilitate Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions.
- Negotiate requirements among multiple stakeholders.
- Analyze business needs to develop solutions or alternatives; create supporting documentation (process maps, traceability matrices, use cases).
- Develop and validate detailed functional and non-functional specifications.
- Support and redesign complex business processes as needed.
- Coordinate with D&A team on system design elements such as data migration rules, business rules, and wireframes.
- Effectively communicate and translate between technical and business stakeholders.
- Facilitate meetings to gather ideas, encourage participation, and manage stakeholder needs.
- Apply creative thinking to inspire new D&A use cases and solutions.
- Influence and engage others through storytelling and persuasive communication.
- Manage and prioritize multiple projects, occasionally serving as a project leader.
- Conduct research into D&A issues and products.
- Preferred: Experience or familiarity with environmental science, water quality, data governance, business case development, UX/design, and relevant certifications (business analysis or project management).
