Job Details
Job Title: Power BI Report Server Administrator (Tax Environment SDLC)
Duration: 6 Months
Location: Richmond, VA
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all vulnerability-related findings within the BI environment, coordinating remediation with IT and security teams.
- Administer, manage, and optimize Power BI Report Server to ensure performance, scalability, and availability.
- Oversee server migrations, upgrades, and patching of Power BI Report Server and related SQL environments.
- Monitor server performance, capacity, and availability to ensure reliable report delivery and system stability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Power BI Report Server issues such as data refresh failures, report access problems, and connectivity errors.
- Manage user access, permissions, and security roles to maintain compliance and data protection standards.
- Work closely with security teams to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities, ensuring adherence to enterprise security policies.
- Provide training and knowledge transfer to teams on Power BI Report Server best practices and report lifecycle management.
- Collaborate with developers, DBAs, and business users to support BI initiatives across tax-related applications and data sources.
- Ensure compliance with Tax SDLC standards and documentation within tax systems and applications.
- Support low-code application development and integration with web services as part of BI solutions.
- Participate in strategic planning for BI infrastructure, performance tuning, and capacity forecasting.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years Prior experience with Tax environments, applications, and Tax SDLC
- 5+ years Hands-on experience with Power BI Report Server
- 5+ years Proven experience with Server Migrations (Windows Server, SQL Server, Power BI Report Server)
- 5+ years Advanced knowledge of SQL Server (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS) including performance tuning and database management
- 5+ years Experience in monitoring server performance, capacity, and availability for optimal Power BI Report Server operation
- 5+ years Proficiency in identifying and resolving Power BI Report Server issues (data refresh, access problems, etc.)
- 2+ years Experience in managing user access, permissions, and security roles within Power BI Report Server
- 3+ years Experience in managing upgrades, patches, and migrations of Power BI Report Server
- 2+ years Experience working with security teams to mitigate and resolve vulnerabilities
- 2+ years Experience in training and knowledge transfer on Power BI Report Server best practice
- 5+ years Experience in low-code application development
- 5+ years Working knowledge of Web Services
