Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer to work on a team supporting our government customer. As a Systems Engineer you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. You will tailor cutting-edge solutions to the unique requirements of our customers. Our work depends on a TS/SCI cleared Systems Engineer joining our team to support our intelligence customer in Springfield, VA.
The Senior Systems Engineer designs and defines system architecture for new or existing computer systems. This includes the coordination of system development to include design, modeling, security, integration, and formal testing. Responsibilities will include:
Contributes to completion of specific engineering programs and projects
Develops solutions to a variety of complex engineering problems
Perform complex systems design, development, and integration from the start of a systems life cycle to the end
Oversees complex infrastructure including installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools
Performs complex systems modeling, simulation, and analysis
Prepares and maintains documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects
Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology
May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals
May serve as a team or task lead

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • BA/BS and 8+ years of related systems engineering experience
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required and eligibility to obtain a CI poly
  • Linux system administrator
  • Scripting / Coding (Bash, Python, etc)
  • Kubernetes
  • Ansible
  • Helm charts
  • Automation

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
A deep expertise in one of the following areas and working knowledge of one or more of the other following:
Operational support
Virtualization technologies (VMware, virtual networking, vROPS, XenServer/XCP-ng)
Red Hat Enterprise Linux, YUM, Satellite, Capsule technologies
Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Ceph storage platform
GitLa

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $126610 - $215270

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
