Description

Our client, a well-established organization in downtown San Francisco, is seeking a Desktop Support Specialist for a contract role with strong potential for extension. This position is ideal for an organized and reliable IT detail oriented who thrives in a hybrid work environment and enjoys hands-on technical troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities: Respond to walk-up support requests and resolve hardware/software issues. Troubleshoot technical issues, including Windows and Mac OS (50/50 environment). Perform access requests, password resets, and hardware/software installations. Set up and configure new permanent equipment such as laptops, docks, and accessories. Address issues with devices like cameras, docks, screens, and peripherals. Maintain functionality of conference rooms and perform health checks on A/V systems. Provide technical support for tools and platforms such as Okta, Active Directory (AD), Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, and Atlassian/Jira. Train users when necessary and contribute to IT documentation and knowledge base. Prioritize and manage concurrent requests effectively.

Requirements

Qualifications: 3-5+ years of IT/helpdesk experience with proven reliability. Experience with Windows 10, Mac OS, and cloud platforms like O365. Proficiency in troubleshooting networking setups, such as WiFi and LAN support. Familiarity with enterprise tools including Zoom, Google Meet, and Jira. Experience in imaging laptops, configuring hardware, and onboarding new employees. Strong technical documentation skills and customer-focused communication style. A collaborative attitude and ability to think critically in troubleshooting situations. Desired Skills: Technical experience with both Windows and Mac operating systems. Familiarity with helpdesk software and ticketing systems. Experience with video conferencing systems and improving end-user setup. Ability to address issues in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
